About the Spirit Foundation Scholarship Programme

As of 2028, the Spirit Foundation Scholarship Programme partners exclusively with the Cape Academy of Mathematics, Science and Technology to offer academic scholarships to prospective female scholars.

The programme creates opportunities for high-potential young women from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who show strong academic ability and an interest in pursuing studies and careers in STEM fields. Through access to quality education at the Cape Academy, scholars are supported not only financially, but through structured mentorship, skills development, and holistic upliftment programmes.

Through mentorship, scholars are guided to achieve to the best of their ability academically and in all areas of their high school journey. The programme nurtures confidence, leadership, creativity, and a strong sense of community responsibility.

Mentorship and Skills Development Programme

Once a scholar receives a Spirit Education Foundation scholarship, they are enrolled in a holistic Mentorship and Skills Development Programme that nurtures personal growth, character development, and resilience throughout their high school journey. Guided by the Circle of Courage philosophy, the programme introduces one key theme per year per grade—Belonging, Generosity, Independence, and Mastery—each aimed at building a strong sense of identity, purpose, and capability. The Circle of Courage is a positive youth development model that emphasises the importance of connection, self-reliance, generosity, and achievement. These themes are brought to life through school visits, workshops, events, annual camp, holiday programmes, and more, ensuring each scholar is supported to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We celebrate the uniqueness of each scholar and offer individualised support, keeping our vision of “building our nation, through education, one scholar at a time” at the heart of all that we do.
